Hatsune Miku Figma (Original Version)

(Released October 2008)

On my 18th birthday, I went to my very first convention with my best friend. There, I bought my very first figure and the start of my now enormous Miku collection. Let this be a warning. Once you start collecting Mikus, you cannot stop. Figmas have ball joints on their limbs and come with a variety of individual pieces, allowing for different poses and expressions. Half the fun of Figmas is deciding what pose you decide to put them in when you display them. This is the first edition of the Hatsune Miku Figma, but is relatively cheap. My main complaint is that her bangs fall off very easily, so I have to be careful when I move her around. Other than that, she's an incredibly great start to my collection. I'm an absolute sucker for older figures.

PLACEHOLDER

Project Diva SPM Pansy

(Released December 2017)

"Weekender Girl" was one of my very first Vocaloid songs and holds a very special place in my heart. I'd love to collect all of the merch featuring this module someday. Very sturdy and durable figure with a bright yellow base. She's still one of my favorite figures of my whole collection. I love Pansy Miku sooooo much....

PLACEHOLDER

Good Smile Racing Miku 2016 SQ

(Released October 2016)

One of the best Racing Miku designs! Fortunate to get her second-hand for cheap from a convention booth in 2022. The little wing things on the top of her head are hard to get into their slots and can easily fall off if they aren't securely in place. The twintails of this figure are soooo good, though. Bright, dynamic, and colorful!

PLACEHOLDER

BiCute Bunnies

(Released August 2021)

Easily one of the best Mikus of my collection. She's a very solid figure with a great paint job, adorable pose, and fishnets made with real polyester. (And very big too!) I'm not surprised that this figure had a re-release in January 2023 and has another one planned for November of this year. Awesome and iconic figure.

PLACEHOLDER

Project Sekai Wonderlands x Showtime

(Released April 2022)

My buddy, Hino, got this for me while they were in Japan over the holiday season in 2022. Wonderlands x Showtime is my favorite of the Sekai Mikus, so I was very thankful for the gift. The main complaints of this figure come from her fragility. There are a lot of thin pieces on her, making her easy to break. In fact, her right forearm broke off during the shipping process, but I was able to glue her back together without it looking too noticeable. Buyer beware of not just her arms, but twintails and cat tail when handling her.

PLACEHOLDER

Project Diva "CA" SPM

(Released April 2018)

This figure, which is based on the module for "Tricolore Airline," is very simple but is one of my favorites in my collection. Unlike most Miku figures, CA's hair is very short, which is great for saving space for others sharing shelf space. Her base is probably my favorite out of all of my figures. It makes me wish that more effort went into other Miku bases.

PLACEHOLDER

Funko POP! Cherry Blossom (Sakura Miku)

(Released June 2021)

I try to avoid collecting Funko Pop figures since they can be really oversaturated, but there aren't too many Miku Funkos. This one was a Hot Topic exclusive and was the first figure I ever preordered! The only other Funko Pop I own is of Garnet from Steven Universe, and because of the oversized head, she can fall over easily. Fortunately, the Sakura Funko comes with a clear plastic stand, so she stays upright. Some Funkos are known for looking really off-putting due to their strange proportions and trademark black eyes. However, I think the designers did a pretty good job on this one.

PLACEHOLDER

Absolute HMO Edition Nendoroid

(Released January 2011)

This was one of my dream figures for a while until I spotted her at a con in June 2022. Another fave of my collection for sure. Like other Nendoroids, she comes with various pieces and parts for customization. But her best part is BY FAR the baggy sleeves. Are you kidding me... she is literally so cute...... Her hair is also phenomenal, having its own joints towards the bottoms of her twintails. The one problem with this figure is that she felt a little sticky, even fresh out of the box. It wasn't until recently that I found out that this was a common issue with the first 300 Nendoroids that came out. (She's #129 in case you were wondering.) Fortunately, a nice soapy soak helps get rid of that problem for the most part. I wish I had known that info sooner, but at least she's so stinking cute that I can ignore it.

PLACEHOLDER

15th Anniversary SPM Figure, Murakami Yuichi ver.

(Released September 2022)

I LOVE ANGELS!!!! My pal Celestrai was looking to sell parts of her collection, and we arranged to meet up at Nebkon 2023 so they could get the figure to me. We didn't find each other until the last day of the con, and I think they were just so eager to get rid of it that they gave it to me for free! (Celestrai is very nice and works on Eclipsed Sounds, the team behind vocal synth products like Solaria and Asterian!) Anyways the figure is very good. I love angels and I love Miku.

PLACEHOLDER

Because You're Here Ver. L, Pop Up Parade

(Released October 2022)

I can't believe it took THIS long for us to get a figure based on a Pinocchio-P song. At least she was worth the wait! Very big and gorgeous figure! I'm a sucker for gradients in Miku's twintails, and the colors overall look spot-on to the MV she's based on. They absolutely nailed the face too, as it can be something that makes or breaks a figure. She's quite pricey, but is understandable given her size and quality.

PLACEHOLDER

Project Diva Pieretta SPM

(Released January 2018)

Pretty sure I got her 2021 re-release version. I got her after graduating college and moving to a city that had a Round1, which is a blessing for me and a curse for my wallet! A very solid Project Diva figure with a fun checkerboard-patterned base. Not much else to say.

PLACEHOLDER

Shinkai Shoujou Luminasta

(Released January 2024)

"Deep Sea Girl" has a lot of sentimental value to me as a Vocaloid song, so I was very happy to finally get a figure of this module! However, I think my feelings of this figure are a little mixed. For the most part, she's pretty cute. The hair and dress flow really nicely, and the blue base with the purple coral is a fun touch. The main issue is the skin tone. I'm not sure why, but the skin looks almost... translucent in some spots? I'm not sure how to describe it, but it makes her face look a little off. I got her from a Round1 crane game and her base price is pretty cheap, but I think I just wanted more out of this figure.

PLACEHOLDER

Live Support Luminasta

(Released June 2023)

Luminasta figures can be hit or miss (see previous entry) but this figure is very cute! She's pretty simple design-wise, but I love seeing Miku in outfits I could see myself wearing. Plus, the 01 hairclip is adorable. Where can I get one? I've spent years cheering Miku on, so it's nice to see her returning the favor for me.

PLACEHOLDER

Snow, Sky Town Luminasta

(Released January 2024)

This figure is BIG. I was not prepared for how tall and wide she was gonna be. Made me realize how little shelf space I have left... This figure is VERY good, though. KEI's illustrations are iconic, and I'm happy to finally have a figure based on his artwork. The illusion of the floating snowflake on her mitten is very well-done.

PLACEHOLDER

Yura Yura Head

(Released June 2023)

Hatsune Miku bobblehead!! I wanted to have something Miku-related at my work desk, but I didn't want any weird looks by my older coworkers. She's absolutely perfect, since she isn't too anime-esque to be questioned. Only problem is her twintails go all the way down to the base, so her head doesn't bobble and wobble around much.

PLACEHOLDER

Project Diva Dark Angel SPM

(Released January 2019)

This figure getting a re-release in 2024 was so huge for me! If you read above, you'll know how much "Secret Police" by Buriru means to me. She fits in perfect with the other Project Diva SPM figures I got, and she just looks so dynamic and cool! The speaker she props her boot on is such a cool touch, and doesn't even require an additional peg to keep in place. Instead it fits snugly between the base of the shoe and the heel. Sturdy, strong, and absolutely kickass as a Dark Angel figure should be.

PLACEHOLDER

Hello! Good Smile

(Released November 2021)

I found this figure at WALMART of all places?? But oh my god she is absolutely perfect. Not a thought behind those eyes. Also I think she was only like $16 USD? VERY cheap but a very adorable figure. She is a great addition for all kinds of Miku fans, and I think this would be a great figure to have if you were just starting your own collection.

PLACEHOLDER

Project Diva 15th Ver. Luminasta

(Released September 2024)

A Luminasta figure of the iconic Mega 39's pose. Her face is a little off in-person, but I think she's okay for the most part! I think this figure could benefit from a cool-looking base!

Plushes

PLACEHOLDER

Miku Mini Squishable

(Released October 2020)

THE ICONIC MIKU BALL!! Even though this is her "mini" version, she's still a good seven inches in diameter. Her hair is also very fuzzy and soft. She's squishy, but her round shape makes her a little awkward to hug. Still, I absolutely adore her. She's so silly-looking.

PLACEHOLDER

Dark Angel Fuwa Puchi Special Nuigurumi

(Released January 2019)

Fuwa Mikus are so cute! I wish I had more of them, but plushes take up even more space than figures and I'm struggling to find space to display my current ones. Like I said in the Dark Angel SPM entry, "Secret Police" means a lot to me, so out of all the mainline Fuwa Mikus I could have, I'm glad it's her! Her hair and skin are surprisingly soft, but her outfit has a bit more of a coarser texture. If you have her in a bed with you, lint can cling onto her outfit easily and is very hard to pick off all the way. Pretty huggable, but can easily tip over from her sitting position because of her big head. Issues aside, I love her very much.

PLACEHOLDER

Aimaina Big Nuigurumi

(Released November 2022)

The way I FREAKED OUT when I saw a whole claw machine FULL of these little freaks. (I guess Aimaina technically isn't Miku but she's Miku-adjacent so she's here.) It took a lot of tries, but she was so worth it. Small, soft, and official merchandise from one of the most iconic Vocaloid producers ever.

PLACEHOLDER

Hatsune Miku x Maneki Neko CharaColle Stand Doll

(Released April 2022)

Wait, why do they call her a stand doll if she can't really stand on her own and is a hangable plush instead? Oh well. Very soft and cute! Miku with homophobia in her eyes...

PLACEHOLDER

Sakura Miku More Plus Fuwafuwa Mascot

(Released April 2022)

Pretty sure I have the March 2024 re-release, but that doesn't really matter. I see a claw machine full of Mikus, I know what I have to do. Look at her... not a thought behind those eyes.

PLACEHOLDER

More Plus Kuttsuki Nuigurumi Open Mouth Version

(Released 2022)

Another Fuwa-style Miku, but this time with a slight twist in her design. This plush comes with a pair of snap buttons on her hands, allowing her to wrap around and cling to poles or bag straps. She's currently wrapped around the neck of my desk lamp. Interestingly, she also has a pair of snap buttons on her back, implying that another Miku could cling onto her back, and another onto her back, and another until we got a Miku conga line going on.

PLACEHOLDER

Black Bunny Outfit Big Nuigurumi Kyurumaru

(Released January 2023)

Oh hey! It's a plush of the BiCute Bunny figure I have! Absolutely love her facial expression, even if it's technically the same as her figurine counterpart. I love the way they simplified her while keeping all of the main details of the original figure.

Clothing

PLACEHOLDER

"Speakers" Shirt

(Released ?)

My first ever Miku shirt, bought right before I started my senior year of high school. I have a lot of love for this shirt, but is starting to develop holes in the armpits from years of wear and tear. (Also design clearly displays the name of the artist who made it, Rachel Bowman! Love when companies credit the designers or artists!!!)

PLACEHOLDER

"Magic Voice" Shirt

(Released ?)

Suuuuper adorable design and Miku has lil wings!! Officially licensed by Crypton and For Fans By Fans and purchased at Hot Topic. Unfortunately now has some bad pit stains, so I've basically retired from wearing this one.

PLACEHOLDER

"Mineral Wash" Shirt

(Released ?)

My mom is responsible for a lot of my Miku shirts, which is really nice of her. This one was a Christmas gift, featuring the iconic debut image of Miku done by KEI. This shirt's also pretty comfy.

PLACEHOLDER

"Portrait" Shirt

(Released ?)

I also call this one "Cyber." My high school bestie, Ryan, got this for me for Christmas! I remember him leaving it on my front porch due to a covid scare in our household. I like the purple, but the design wrinkled and has torn really easily.

PLACEHOLDER

"Nendoroid Snowy" Shirt

(Released ?)

Another shirt gifted by my mom. Nice to have a winter-themed Miku shirt for the colder months. Design is a little standard, but still cute.

PLACEHOLDER

"Cyber Shot" Shirt

(Released ?)

Another shirt from my mom, but this one is strange because I cannot find a source for this one ANYWHERE. I've been able to trace back sources for all of my shirts I've bought or received EXCEPT this one. The design is pretty good, but for some reason the art of Miku looks like she got sent to print without the line art layer on. I am so curious about this shirt, so I'll keep digging.

PLACEHOLDER

"Happy Birthday Miku" Shirt

(Released ?)

This was my favorite Miku shirt I had for a while. I bought it on discount for Miku's birthday. It went through a whole saga through the postal system, starting at their West Coast warehouse to Chicago before bouncing around different cities in my state for THREE WEEKS before it showed up in my mailbox, only to discover it was way too big. After a return process and reordering, the second shirt showed up in under a week. Postal troubles aside, I absolutely LOVE this design, done by Hassan. Their art style is so dynamic and unique. I'd kill for more merch with their artwork on it.

PLACEHOLDER

"Miku Expo 2024 Hero" Shirt

(Released 2024)

I've been following SOCKY online for years, so seeing official merch designed by them for Miku Expo 2024 was so cool!! I knew if I had to buy from any of the artists on the lineup, it had to be them.

PLACEHOLDER

"Miku Expo 2024" Cap

(Released 2024)

I've wanted a cool Miku cap for a while, and this design was absolutely PERFECT. Simple yet dynamic!

SEB presents SUPER HATSUNE BEAT Vol. 1

(Released March 2012)

I got introduced to this album via a rip on YouTube, and MAN this slaps. It's a compilation of 13 classic songs from the Project Diva series, all remixed into a 35-minute Eurobeat mix! It also comes with a DVD that contains the same mix with an accompanying MV that was made in Project Diva, along with the MV for "Luka Luka Night Fever." Unfortunately, I cannot play this DVD due to it being region-locked. Oh well, at least the CD works. If I ever get my hands on a Japanese DVD player, we'll be so back.

PLACEHOLDER

Weekender Girl/Fake Doll Single

(Released August 2012)

With "Weekender Girl" being one of my favorite Vocaloid songs of all time, it only makes sense to have the physical single!

PLACEHOLDER

"Hatsune Miku: Unofficial Hatsune Mix" by KEI

(Released August 2014)

If you love looking at Vocaloid stuff from the very early days of the fandom, you'll LOVE this. This manga series was created by KEI, the original designer and illustrator of Miku, Rin, Len, and Luka. It contains a series of comedic one-shot stories starring Miku. Most chapters have little to do with each other and the character's personalities fluctuate with each storyline. This is why it's called "unofficial," as Miku and her friends' personalities are meant to be up to interpretation, and this manga mainly depicts "fanon" versions. Between different chapters, we are treated to various color illustrations done by KEI. Just looking at those is enough to make any Vocaloid fan nostalgic, no matter how long you've been in the fandom. Like, there's an illustration celebrating Miku's 1st anniversary! Megurine Luka didn't even exist yet!

PLACEHOLDER

"Hatsune Miku: Future Delivery" Vol. 1 & 2

(Released November 2017)

I got these mangas from my buddy, Star! I haven't read them yet... But I'll update this section when I do!

PLACEHOLDER

"Hatsune Miku: Bad End Night" Vol. 1-3

(Released October 2017)

I bought the full series when I was in high school and I remember devouring through the series over a weekend. The art is pretty solid and I think the story was okay, but I believe some fans think the story is different than the original song series it was based off of. I should probably re-read it sometime, but I think these books are buried in a box somewhere at my parents' place right now.

Miku Expo 2020 Glowstick

(Released January 2020)

I got this as a little birthday gift to myself since I couldn't go to Miku Expo 2020 due to financial reasons. But then again... nobody ended up going to Miku Expo 2020 since it got cancelled. It feels a little weird owning merch from a tour that didn't end up happening. But at least it saved me a lot of strife in the long run, since Miku Expo 2024 had a huge issue regarding the demand for penlights.

PLACEHOLDER

HappyKuji Hatsune Miku 2014 Autumn Ver. Plate

(Released October 2014)

This technically has all the Crypton Vocaloids on this but I'm including it here. Owning this merch is kind of a flex. A lot of people have figures or plushes, but how many people can say they own an official Miku DINNER PLATE? Imagine going to your partner and being like "Babe, we have company coming over. Bring out the fine china." AND YOU BUST OUT THE MIKU PLATE. LIKE PLEASE THAT'S SO FUNNY??? Novelty aside, the artwork on the plate is super simple and cute. The colors are a lot more muted, making for a very pleasing and classy look.

PLACEHOLDER

Miku Miku Room Miniature Set #5

(Released August 2022)

Not a traditional figure, but instead a blind box series that contains parts for a Miku-themed room. It really wants me to make a little room for a little Miku...

PLACEHOLDER

Miku, Rin, Len, & Luka Pin Set

(Released ?)

Pretty sure I snagged these at Five Below. I feel a little buyer's remorse about these ones... I feel like these designs would work better as enamel pins rather than button pins.

PLACEHOLDER

Kagamine Rin and Len Enamel Pins

(Released ?)

I can't remember where I got these, but I'm about 95% sure this is official merch so I got it somewhere like Hot Topic. More info needed!

PLACEHOLDER

Kasane Teto Utau Nendoroid

(Released March 2016)

This was the first Nendoroid I ever owned and was one of the first figures I've ever owned! I got this as a gift from a friend of mine back in high school. For a while, this was the only official Teto figure on the market! Very good figure. I've never had any major issues with her.

PLACEHOLDER

Kasane Teto Synth V Nendoroid (+ Bonus Anniversary Base)

(Released May 2024)

I pre-ordered this girl sooooo fast. It's really interesting comparing her to her 2016 Nendoroid, as you can really see how much the product line has evolved during that time. It was really exciting to see her chimera wings were included in her accessories, but I kinda wish we got something other than a baguette for this one, since we got a baguette in her Utau version. Still, they are very cool to have side-by-side on my shelf! She's absolutely gorgeous.

PLACEHOLDER

Kasane Teto Utau Pop Up Parade

(PRE-ORDERED, Release Planned for Q2 2026)

She isn't coming home until next year, so review to come. However, a little peeved that the sales tax, shipping cost, and a tariff fee upped the total cost to $95... My poor wallet.

DAEMON/DOLL Album

(Released April 2024)

If you haven't listened to DAEMON/DOLL, stop what you're doing right now and go listen to it. Ten of the most iconic producers in the English vocal synth scene creating twelve incredible songs using Kasane Teto Synth V. Even more tuners, illustrators, and editors contributed to this album project, all as a massive love letter to Kasane Teto and her impact on the vocal synth community. As a longtime Teto fan, this album blew me away.

DAEMON/DOLL Deluxe Edition Goodies

(Released April 2024)

The deluxe edition of this album came with a good handful of bonus merchandise! Stickers, an acrylic stand, and a random trading card featuring art from one of the song's MVs with the corresponding producer's signature. I was thrilled to get the card for my favorite song on the album, "Machine Love" by Jamie Paige!

PLACEHOLDER

Meiko Project Diva Sega PM Figure

(Released November 2014)

I felt so lucky when I spotted her at a con right next to Pansy Miku. I initially debated between the two, but I caved and got both. I'm glad I snagged her, since there is significantly less official merch of her compared to her Cryptonloid friends. Plus, she's a wonderful centerpiece for the Meiko-focused portion of my shelf. She's a little plain, but since this is meant to be her "default" version, I give it a pass.

PLACEHOLDER

Meiko Original Nendoroid

(Released June 2014)

Shout-out to the person from Hong Kong who was selling her in box on MyFigureCollection! She's sooooo cute. I was a little concerned with the hair color, as I was worried the brown gradients were going to make her look dirty. But they look just fine in person, and a wonderful addition to my collection! I also love how the body parts and props allow you to recreate her dynamic pose seen on her original box art. I love you, Meiko V1... They could never make me hate you, Meiko V1...

PLACEHOLDER

DesQ P@rty on Desk Hanko Stand

(Released January 2023)

The gacha gods smiled on me... While Meiko is the least popular Cryptonloid and a lot would be disappointed to pull her, I was absolutely ecstatic! She's small and very adorable. My only complaint is sometimes the music notes are hard to squeeze into their peg-holes, but I think that's a factor of her size.

PLACEHOLDER

Miku Expo 2024 Checkered Acrylic Keychain (TSURT)

(Released March 2024)

Meiko being the least popular Cryptonloid saved me when I was getting some additional merch for Miku Expo 2024. She was the only character whose stock hadn't been completely wiped out... It's only single-sided and I wish the print was a little more vibrant, but the design is stellar and the keychain itself is quite big. All of the artists for Miku Expo 2024 COOKED. Only $10 too!

PLACEHOLDER

Miku Expo 2024 Silicone Bracelet (TSURT)

(Released March 2024)

Like the keychain, Meiko's bracelet was the only one that hadn't completely had its stock cleaned out by the time I got to ordering. It's a bit more orange than the online pictures show, but I don't care all that much. It was very fun to wear to the concert!

PLACEHOLDER

Lily Fine Quality Figure Bondage Version (FuRyu)

(Released January 2014)

I found this figure second-hand out of her box and was stunned! A lot of people don't talk about Lily much these days, so I'm really happy to have a figure from her heyday. Pretty well-done and solid figure, and seems to go for pretty cheap on auction sites, so if you're a Lily fan (or want a figure of a less common vocal synth), I highly recommend!

PLACEHOLDER

Kagamine Rin 1/8 Scale Figure (Touna Kanshi)

(Released June 2009)

Not sure if I have the original or the 2013 re-release, but found her at a con for only $50 in box! This was one of my dream figures for the longest time, and I'm so happy I have her! Her pose is SOOOOO CUTE. Now to find the Len figure that accompanies her...

PLACEHOLDER

Megurine Luka EX Figure A

(Released November 2010)

I've been making more of an effort to collect older figures as of late, and this Luka is a perfect example of that. She's definitely not perfect, but something about her has that old-school Vocaloid charm to it. Plus, her base is a set of piano keys which connects her to a corresponding Len figure! I find it really interesting that Luka and Len have a figure pairing. Like, you'd think it'd be Rin and Len or even Rin and Luka? I feel like having both of them would be a great way to transition between a Luka shrine to a Kagamine shrine! (EDIT: After some further research, it seems like Luka and Len are paired together because there was a similar pair released by this company with Miku and Rin a couple years prior!)
